The point is that I haven’t been through any of those but I isolate myself because I am a misanthrope. I have like 10,000 books to read and that falls before everything else. Besides I’m like every other late-20s casualty of the “learning disabled system”- I’m a workalholic. And I’ll fail by my responsibility but if I’m faced with the rip-off-of-life of all times I’ll push myself to the breaking point. Anyway that’s what I’m doing now but I’m already starting AGAIN to suffer from the effects of long-term isolation- and I’m less resilient than before unlike what I had expected. I just had too much company (whew- that’s for sure- the people I spent my weekends with and lived with can go to hell). The awkwardness is coming quicker and I’m getting confused. Now I’m talking to myself and muttering or whispering to myself for company because I’m the only person I spend too much time with to get sick of – well – myself. At least I’m answerring back and not an imaginary friend and most of the time I’m doing it in my car. I just kind of look at it as a bad sign if the most fun or thoughtful conversations I’m having are with- well- me. The good news is I won’t go postal by now and the bad news is instead all I have to worry about is either losing my head because I can’t communicate myself and then having to worry about living in a parallel psychotic imaginary reality that does not meet or agree with the perceptions of the consensus reality shared by the masses (transforming me magically into a blabbering dumbass who believes that jesus is in his Big Gulp), OR having an aneurysm, OR having a stroke before I hit 30 (still working on it), or having a heart attack.

So, I sleep. I eat. I’m agorophobic meaning that I hate humanity and feel really distrustful of a lot of people and that everyone can be so irresponsible and selfish- BUT I can still go out to do the important stuff (groceries, doctors or dentists appointments, etc, etc).

How can people cope with the isolationism in regards to precautionary measures for the effect of isolation on the psyche (especially if it’s like a harmful form of therapy in many cases such as “Primal Scream” in which isolation is a choice- not a matter of circumstance or a penalty for one’s actions.)?

One thing I did to cope was I had an imaginary girlfriend- No not a blow-up doll… That’s just creepy. And no not a hallucination. I mean a self-created controllable predictable type of chick who dug spending time with me- and when I felt like women treated me like a freak or a mutant or someone who was a dumbass only because he didn’t give a crap about coke or couldn’t buy them any then *poof* I made this pseudo-hallucination-type chick appear. Why one time I went to a taco shop even and three couples at a time were in and out of there and I forgot why I ordered two burritos for myself lol. As I imagined for my own peace of mind and tolerance of the isolation that she was sitting across from me I had imagined her to say, “Well, isn’t it cool to have an imaginary girlfriend like me? I’ll never prejudge you and belittle you and I’ll never leave you- besides I’m a figment of your imagination so I’ll always appreciate what you have to say and say what you want to hear.” Lol. But of course, I’m a realist not as caught up in my head as I’d like to be. So anyway should I have stuck with that route as a socially maneuverable method of dealing with isolationism? (I couldn’t find any rats or cockroaches I could really befriend or keep as pets at my house to deal with it.)

Otherwise, yes, I’ve heard stories of people “cutting” to deal with the isolation but I’m trying to quit- Nothanks. That’s gotten kind of old and I feel a bit more shameful of that.

New edition of ISO/TS 16949 quality specification for automotive industry supply chain

ISO has just published a new edition of ISO/TS 16949:2009, Quality management systems – Particular requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2008 for automotive production and relevant service part organizations, which specifies quality system requirements for suppliers in the automotive sector. It replaces the 2002 edition which has been used by the major automotive manufacturers to approve more than 35 000 organizations worldwide that produce and supply parts for the sector.

Effective supply-chain management is critical in the automotive industry. There are thousands of components in a vehicle’s systems and subsystems. Upon final assembly, the vehicles produced are shipped into a competitive and high-volume global vehicle market.

‘ISOmobile!’ Eight of every 10 cars to run on ISO 9001:2000 by 2006

For the first time in history, the highly competitive automotive industry has reached consensus through the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) on a common set of supplier quality requirements that were developed and published in March 2002 by ISO as ISO/TS 16949:2002.

The April 2010 ofISO Focus + – The magazine of the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) – shows how the diversity of applications of ISO standards for radio frequency identification (RFID) facilitates global trade.

The RFID industry has been a phenomenal growth during the past decade, according to estimates, it should have in ten years a market of USD 27.59 billion – evolution unthinkable without the use of harmonized standards.

The April 2010 ofISO Focus + examines the various ISO standards for RFID and highlights some areas that are reaping the fruit of Libraries, freight forwarding, through the cylinders and animal identification devices.

This issue gives some key examples of the use of RFID and shows how standards help create a harmonized framework, improve transparency, efficiency and security in a complex market growing, while optimizing the process enterprises and reducing their operating costs.

The RFID ISO standards also provide significant advantages in tracking products as they move through the supply chain, including loss prevention, inventory control and visibility during transit . Millions of toys were recalled worldwide because they showed a dangerous level of lead or cadmium, choking hazards, contained magnets can be swallowed or contained other dangers yet. In the series of different parts of ISO 8124, Toy SafetyTwo new documents are intended to reduce accident risks faced by children due to facilities or hazardous substances.

“There is no doubt that in the global network of toy safety, ISO 8124 is essential.”. These are the words of Arnie Rubin, Funrise Director and Chairman of the International Council of Toy Industries, in an interview published recently by the magazine ISO Focus+. According to him, “the safety of children has always been the first priority of our industry.”

Published under the generic title Toy SafetyThe various parts of ISO 8124 are intended to minimize potential risks of an accident in normal use of toys (for which purpose it was designed) and foreseeable misuse (when the toy is used by another function of that for which it was designed).

ISO 8124-4:2010, Safety of toys – Part 4: Swings, slides and similar activity toys for domestic use inside and outside home, Last appeared in this family of standards, specifies requirements and test methods for swings, slides and other play equipment for children to play safely. This standard focuses on activity toys used by children under 14 years, indoors or outdoors and only in the family.

The accident data, together with risk analysis, have motivated an update of ISO 8124-3:2010, Toy Safety – Part 3: Migration of certain elements. This improved standard aims to minimize the exposure of children to potentially toxic substances by reducing the risk if swallowed. It specifies acceptable levels for hazardous substances – arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and other components – that could contain toys. ISO 8124-3:2010 replaces the old 1997 version.

“In recent years, the safety of toys and other products has become a major concern, which has caused an excessive number of recalls of products for children because of non-compliance,” said Christian Wetterberg, Speaker Technical Committee responsible for the development of these standards. “ISO 8124 is a crucial standard for safety, its use may reduce the risk of injury and exposure to danger, and severity of accidents.

We hope the toy manufacturers worldwide, all categories combined, grasp the importance of ISO 8124. The safety of our children depends on it! ”

Anxious to continuously improve the safety of toys, the technical committee ISO / TC 181 Toy safety has also updated and improved the first two games of the series ISO 8124, namely: Part 1 Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical propertiesIn 2009, and Part 2 InflammabilityIn 2007.

According to the Chairman of the Technical Committee, three new parties should join the ranks of the ISO 8124 series, including:

* Total concentration of certain elements in the material-Toy
* Determination of phthalate plasticizers in materials with plasticized
* Digital Paintings.

The way is clear for publication by the end of the year, the International Standard ISO 26000, which provides guidelines on social responsibility.

The Working Group of ISO on social responsibility (ISO / WG SR) consists of multiple stakeholders including experts and observers from 99 countries members of ISO and 42 private sector organizations and public, has approved the progress of the draft standard ISO 26000 at the stage of Final Draft International Standard (DIS) at its 8th plenary meeting, held May 17, 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The document is now being finalized to reflect the consensus reached at the Copenhagen meeting, after the counting of 2482 comments received in writing. The DIS is then circulated to member countries of ISO for a vote of two months from August to September. Publication as an International Standard ISO full is expected by November.

The management of the ISO / WG SR is provided by two members of the ISO: ABNT (ISO member for Brazil) and SIS (ISO member for Sweden). After the success of the Copenhagen meeting, the Chairman of ISO / WG SR, ER Cajazeira Jorge said: “ISO 26000 will provide public sector organizations and the private sector a new paradigm that will help them operate in the mode socially responsible society is demanding today. The standard will help them ensure their long-term economic interests with social costs and environmental impact minimized. ”

For the Vice-Chairman of ISO / WG SR, Staffan Söderberg: “After obtaining the consensus of the 100 pages we have experienced a great moment when 400 experts and observers stood in thunderous Clap. The work of the Working Group on Social Responsibility ISO resulted in an amazing result and it is time to benefit the market and all organizations in the world. ”

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the meeting, the Secretary General of ISO, Rob Steele, appreciation al’ISO / WG SR for their efforts since the group’s first meeting in 2005. The WG, which met eight times, has treated more than 25,000 comments.

Emphasizing the value of the contribution of multiple stakeholders who have worked on the development of ISO 26000, as well as the importance of the contribution of developing countries, he said: “One of major arguments that have promoted the development of ISO 26000 was that the magnitude of the subject would raise the widest participation possible and that the application development process of ISO standards would maximize participation . Developing countries were one of the key groups to defend this point of view, and the argument has focused. ”

As the Secretary General of ISO noted, ISO 26000 is a guidance document, which does not provide specifications for an approach to third-party certification, and ISO will ensure that this approach is respected . Steele also noted that the market expects the ISO 26000 standard, namely:

* A global agreement on definitions and principles of the RS
* A global agreement on core issues of the RS
* Recommendations on how to integrate RS in an organization or company.

The meeting was welcomed by Danish Standards, ISO member for Denmark and the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, under which the Minister Brian Mikkelsen said: “By getting now broad support for the ‘globally on the meaning and practices of the RS, we marked a significant advance. Companies and organizations worldwide will share a common starting point for their activities in a socially responsible way. ”
